Set The Same New Years Resolution Goals Every Year?
Set The Same New Year Resolution Goals Every Year?
“How To Make Sure You Set And Achieve Your New Year’s Resolutions This Year!”
Hello there, it’s Matt with Operational Awesome Life. Can you believe that Christmas is almost here?
Let me be the first to wish your a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I bet you know what one of the most popular things to do around this time of year is…
Yep, it is setting new year resolutions! If you haven’t already thought about setting your goals for next year, you are behind. Today is the day to start thinking about what your new year resolutions are going to be for this year.
Are Your Goals Just Wishful Thinking Rather Than MUSTS?
Do you find yourself not reaching your goals or your outcomes every single year and the same goals end up on your resolutions every single year? If that is the case, you might need to question if those goals are really a MUST for you.
“Are those goals something you feel that you must make happen? Something that you feel has to happen for your life to be the way it should be. Or are they just nice thoughts, nice things that if they happen that would be nice?”
If your goals are just nice thoughts or wishful thinking then chances are the goals are not really as important to you as you may think they are. It’s a good idea to review your goals and really ask yourself this question:
Is this goal a MUST for me, and why do I have to achieve it?
I have been thinking about my new year’s resolutions and all the goals that I want to set for this upcoming year. And then it hit me that some of the goals that I had last year are being transferred to this year’s goals. And I started wondering…
“Why is that happening?”
Why is it that am not hitting them? It’s because I haven’t made those goals a must. I haven’t made those goals a have to reach outcome that has to be done and that if I don’t hit that goal, my life is going to really suffer for it.
Even though I haven’t made those musts in my life that doesn’t mean that missing those goals hasn’t really caused pain in my life. If you really think about it, the lack of hitting your outcomes hurts you whether you take the goal seriously or not!
It’s a good idea to think about this stuff as we approach the New Year 2016. It is coming in only a couple of weeks!!
“What do your goals really mean to you and why are they your goals in the first place? Do they really mean anything to you or they are just a little exercise that you do every year to feel a little better about yourself for a couple of weeks?”
I’m really trying to be introspective and trying to ask myself,” Why I’m I setting these goals?”
This way I don’t just throw some random goals onto my list that sound good and would be fun to achieve and make my life a little better, but that will actually make my life go to a much higher level and make me feel amazing for reaching them.
12 Steps To Turning Your New Year’s Resolution Goals Into MUST Be Reached Outcomes!
- Brainstorm positive changes you MUST make in this coming new year to feel like you were successful
- Select 1-3 big achievable goals that you can dedicate the year to achieving

- Once per week track your progress towards your goals and set your weekly and daily objectives for the coming week
- Reward yourself every week for your successes and focus on the progress you had, not the setbacks
